1. Why go to the Czech Republic for a joint replacement?
Let us name the most important reasons. Surgery in 21 days, Olympic-team doctors, shared know-how with our Austrian parent company VAMED, exceptional price-to-performance ratio, in-house surgery and rehabilitation, and interpreting and daily assistance from our Patient Support Manager throughout your stay at the clinic.
2. How long do I have to stay at the clinic?
On average, stays last 19 days, but we recommend 25 days to complete the recovery. The minimum is 16 days.
3. Will my insurance cover the treatment?
Yes, private insurance may cover such treatment. Please ask your insurance company. We can provide you with estimated costs and fill in the necessary documents, as well as a confirmation and overview of your treatment once done.
4. Can I bring my family?
Definitely. Having your closest ones with you helps the healing process, as the mind plays a big part in it. You can share a room with one family member, or they can visit you every day while staying in a hotel we can arrange.
5. When is the earliest that I can begin my treatment?
Usually in 3 weeks from the evaluation of your medical report and other documents – which takes us 2 workdays max. We always do our best to reduce the waiting times as much as possible.
6. When can I arrive?
Come at least two days before the surgery. This is necessary for the completion of the pre-operative assessment and tests. During this time, you stay in a hotel. Don’t hesitate to come even earlier though. The lovely city of Prague is waiting for you to explore it.
7. Are you a medical travel agency?
No. We are a direct treatment provider. You pay only for the medical intervention, not for a mediation. Thus the great price.
8. What is included in the rehabilitation?
The rehabilitation plan is always customised and typically consists of 3 to 5 daily procedures. These procedures span a minimum of 14 days. We recommend extending your stay by an additional week to allow for proper healing.
9. How can I pay?
After the initial evaluation of your case and signing a contract, you pay a third of the total price via a bank transfer. You pay the rest after arrival with cash or by card.
10. What should I arrange for the trip?
Have a valid ID card or passport, research visa requirements, and book a flight. We will assist with booking a hotel if you are interested. Your Patient Support Manager will take care of everything upon your arrival in Prague. That means you can focus on the good things ahead.
11. What if I need any follow-up care?
We are prepared. You can join our online rehabilitation programme right in your living room. It is led by the people you’ll already know from your stay in VMC.
